Mr. Shing-Ren Sheu is presently Vice President of UMC, United Microelectronics Corporation, Republic of China (Taiwan). 
Mr. Sheu worked for UMC since 1989, over 24 years experiences in the field of Memory Design Engineering, Technology Development Management, Process Integration/Module Management, Customer Engineering, IP Design Support Vice President, Q&RA Vice President, Mask Engineering Vice President , Test/Product Engineering Vice President. Prior to joining UMC, Mr. Sheu served 2 years at CSIST (1986-1988)– Chung Shan Institute of Science & Technology as Process Development Manager for microwave semiconductor components. 

Mr. Sheu received his MS degree from University of New Mexico (UNM) Albuquerque in 1986 and participated UNM – National Sandia Laboratory Project for Micro Machining Development (in 1985-1986) – Accelerometer Project successfully with his Professor Dr. Don L. Kendall as a Research Assistant.  Mr. Sheu has authored/co-authored 50+ patents in the field of semiconductor technology, package & test.
