Dr. Fu has been President or Chair of various professional societies including IMAPS (International Microelectronics and Packaging Society) - Asia and Taiwan, SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association)-Taiwan and CPMT-Taipei. He has also been the local chapter President of CIE (Chinese Institute of Engineers), CIEE (Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineers), CSMOT (Chinese Society for Management of Technology) and CSM (Chinese Society of Management).

Dr. Fu has numerous experiences in technical consulting for many companies and organizations. He received the Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Education of R.O.C. in 1983, the Outstanding Research Award from the National Science Council in 1990, the Excellence in Leadership Award sponsored by SMTA in 2002, IMAPS Fellow in 2003, IMAPS international Award in 2004, IEEE Fellow in 2009, and CSMOT Fellow in 2010.
